Each is read once and kept as a short style description: layout, color palette with hex codes, typography, texture and visual hierarchy. Search your references by words ("dark editorial layout with a serif headline") or by another image. Ask what the set has in common and get concrete rules back. When you agree with the rules, save them as your taste profile; later tasks read it before they design anything.
